THE GREAT ROOM

With Holly Kincannon as the lead designer, the Great Room fireplace stands 33 feet tall while displaying some of the finest design and carving work of our studio. The placement of this structure divides a Great Room with dining on one side, and living on the other. Both sides are heavily carved including 8  statuary figures, 8 columns and capitals, a griffin frontispiece, and decorative friezes at several courses. The figurative content was derived from a fictionalized studio mythology. If one looks closely, the lower figures are quietly shouldering the weight of the world with eyes closed, while the upper figures are carrying the bounty of life, shells spun in hair and and eyes wide open. Cravotta Studios was the interior designer on the project.
